Integrative Nutrition

What is Integrative Nutrition?

Integrative nutrition focuses on holistic nutrition - physical, spiritual, emotional. This involves not only what we eat but also extends to our lifestyle including relationships, career, spirituality, and physical activity. It's health care using an integrated approach that treats the whole person, not simply symptoms and disease. Mind and body are integrated and inseparable.

"Our thoughts and beliefs affect our bodies and our health"

- Dr. Bernie Siegel, The Art of Living

Holistic Health Coaching

Integrative Nutrition Health Coaches have been trained to educate and guide clients to make long-lasting, sustainable lifestyle changes crucial to improving health and happiness. These behavioral changes result in improved nutrition, dietary habits, physical ability, and overall greater health and wellness.

Why use a Health Coach?

Choose private health coaching to improve your life! A Health Coach is a supportive mentor who helps you feel your best through food and lifestyle changes and personalized, one-on-one encouragement. A Health Coach guides you through diet and lifestyle adjustments designed to help you live a better life and achieve your health and wellness goals. To live a vibrant life, we all need holistic support. A Health Coach offers guidance and accountability - from exercise and nutrition to relationships, career, and spirituality!

Why choose Rising Mountain Wellness?

Let's partner together for a healthier, happier you!

As an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, I work with you to help you become healthier by making better food and lifestyle choices. I use an integrative, functional, and personalized approach to nutrition, health, and healing. We'll work together to treat the whole body (mind, spirit, body) to work towards a healthier, happier you.

Whether you have made a decision to pursue a healthier lifestyle on your own or have been advised by your doctor, functional medicine doctor, natropath, or chiropractor that you need to make dietary changes, I can help you take the next step to better health and overall wellness. I know first hand how difficult this transition can be. (Read my story to learn more.) I pursued health coaching as a way to help others like me and to inspire them with a back-to-basics "downshifted" approach - whole foods + healthy living. I focus on wholesome nourishing food and work to inspire others to take life "down a notch." There is no "one path" when it comes to your health journey - it's all about creating a plan that works best for you.

Areas of Expertise

Weight Loss - I am an expert on gut health and giving your body the foods it needs to work optimally. Your body wants you to feel good, and the best way to reach your natural weight is to keep your gut flora happy while balancing the other parts of life that "weigh" you down.

Autoimmune Diseases - Immune system disorders cause abnormally low activity or over activity of the immune system. In cases of immune system over activity, the body attacks and damages its own tissues. Immune deficiency diseases decrease the body's ability to fight invaders, causing vulnerability to infections.1 Some common autoimmune diseases include Crohn's disease, fibromyalgia, lupus, psoriasis, ulcerative colitis, type 1 diabetes, and endometriosis.

Thyroid Problems & Diseases - Through the hormones it produces, the thyroid gland influences almost all of the metabolic processes in your body. Although the effects can be unpleasant or uncomfortable, most thyroid problems can be managed well if properly diagnosed and treated.2

Fertility Issues - Approximately 12% of women aged 15 to 44 years in the United States have difficulty getting pregnant or carrying a pregnancy to term. Risk factors for women's infertility include stress and poor diet.3

My clients are often people who are looking for alternatives to western medicine OR ways to support western medicine so in the future the doctors can decrease the dosage or eliminate it all together.

An Integrative Nutrition Health Coach focuses on nutrition, physical activity, relationships, career, and spirituality. These elements can impact markers of health such as stress, weight, and energy levels. The relationships between food and lifestyle and how they both affect health is the primary focus of an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.

You and I will work as a team in an ongoing coaching plan to support your goals. While dietary nutrition is discussed, there is a larger focus on these non-food forms of nourishment. We'll discuss your overall well-being, and together come up with a plan to help enact basic health-supportive modification. You will leave my program feeling empowered, enlightened, active, healed, confident, vibrant, aware, open, capable, abundant and more!
